REPORT: Girardi Babies Alex Rodriguez

REPORT: Girardi Babies Alex RodriguezNew York Yankees’ third baseman, Alex Rodriguez, continues to have his name in the press even though he’s not swinging a bat at the moment.

What’s it this time? According to an ESPN report, Joe Girardi made a point to have the stadium’s public address announcer leave A-Rod’s name out when he was pinch-hit for during the playoffs.

Proper procedure calls for the pinch hitter’s name and the name of the person he’s replacing to be mentioned.

There are conflicting reports out there as to when the situation actually occurred. CBS Sports said it happened during Game 1 of the American League Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers. The New York Post reported it went down in Game 3 of the American League Division Series.

The ESPN report also stated that the Yankee general manager, Brian Cashman, confirmed the move made by Girardi.

Who really cares when it actually happened, it speaks volumes as to how coach Joe Girardi babies his players. These guys are getting paid millions and Girardi is trying to do his best to spare embarrassment. Enough babying. You get what you give as they say, Girardi actually took the last enjoyment away from us Yankee fans, booing players not performing.
