A YouTube video surfaced August 20th on Steelers Digest of the Pittsburgh Stellers lip-synching the overly-played Carly Rae Jepsen song, “Call Me Maybe.”
Filmed during the 2012 training camp, notable players like quarterback Ben Roethlisberg, backup quarterback, Charlie Batch and surprisingly enough, NFL bad-boy, James Harrison, makes an appearance.
Roethlisberger shows up in the beginning of the video but doesn’t actually do any lip-synching. Batch definitely gets into it, dancing, lip-synching and all.
The hard-hitting Harrison does get involved. After some weight-lifting, he stares into the camera and does a little lip-synching with the hand-gesture to call him.
The video seems to be done in partnership with Make-A-Wish.
I have to say, even though I don’t like this song, or the Steelers, or anyone on the Steelers, this is a much better team exercise than what the New York Giants have got into the news for recently.
August 18th, a different kind of YouTube video emerged unlike the feel good Steelers video. There is a near 50-second clip of Giants’ Jason Pierre-Paul throwing teammate, Prince Amukamara, into a tub of ice cold water.
According to the YouTube video’s description, it was uploaded by New York Giants punter, Steve Weatherford.
