They placed the the two-time Super Bowl champion at number 31 on the list.
Well there is something definitely wrong with this list, more than just Manning’s ranking, but let’s not digress.
Here are five things wrong with the Super Bowl MVP’s ranking.
Super Bowl Rings: Jared Allen, Frank Gore and Julius Peppers are ranked in front of Manning on the list among others. Manning has more Super Bowl rings than nearly everyone ranked in front of him except for a Steeler or two.
Troy Polamalu: The defensive stopper is ranked 19th. Polamalu is a shell of what he used to be, maybe its all the concussions but he’s not that good anymore, definitely not worthy a ranking like that.
Ed Reed: This old ‘bird’ is ranked 16th. See Polamalu argument above.
Jimmy Graham: The New Orleans tight end is ranking 14th! I mean come on, he’s only been in the league for a cup of coffee. Take Drew Brees away and how good is Graham? We might even find that out this year.
Ben Roethlisberger: No questions that the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback still has what it takes to win football games but if you had to pick between Manning and Roethlisberger in their current stages of career, who would you go with? Roethlisberger is ranked 30th on the list, their spots should at least be switched, that’s not too much to ask, right? Manning has done quite well at cutting down on interceptions while Roethlisber’s interception numbers continue to be a problem.
What do you think about the list? Any problem with Manning’s spot or in general?
