Are A-Rod’s Best Days Behind Him?

Are A-Rod’s Best Days Behind Him?

The benching of Alex Rodriguez in game five of the American League Division Series against the Baltimore Orioles caused quite a stir in the sports world.

Of course Yankee coach, Joe Girardi, was just trying to put the best team out on the field, the players that give him the best shot to win and advance in the playoffs. Or maybe he was trying to motivate the slugger?

But Rodriguez sitting in that game was well-deserved, he wasn’t hitting! Will he ever revert back to his all-star form?

Things have been looking down for A-Rod for quite sometime since he came back from his hip injury. He still hits the home run but when it comes down to clutch time, Rodriguez is nowhere to be found. He’s easily in the twilight of his career. Is he paying for his time using steroids? Is his body breaking down? Well you could say that, he doesn’t play a full season anymore. I mean, of course no one plays a full season, but he misses a good chunk every season.

He started game one against the Detroit Tigers batting sixth. He better get comfortable, he’s going to be in that part of the lineup a lot more for the New York Yankees.

It’s Robinson Cano’s time, and I’m sure the Yankees will continue to be the Yankees and bring in the new hot thing in baseball.

Either way you look at it, Rodriguez’s future with the Yankees looks pretty dim.
