Poor Moon to release self-titled debut full length in North America on August 28th via Sub PopPress Release:

We here at Sub Pop are thrilled to share release details on behalf of Poor Moon’s self-titled, full-length debut, out August 28th via Sub Pop on CD, LP and digital formats. The album features the lead single, “Holiday,” along side standouts “Pulling Me Down,” “Heaven’s Door” and “Waiting For”.  To celebrate the release, we are offering a free download of “Holiday”.  The album will also be available in the UK and Europe via Bella Union on September 3rd.  Poor Moon follows the bands well-received Illusion EP, which was released earlier this spring.

Poor Moon will kick-off a west coast tour with support from Hardly Art recording artists Gold Leaves (select dates), which begins May 30th in Portland, OR at Doug Fir and wraps up on June 10th in Bend, OR at Les Schwab Ampitheatre. On June 2nd, the band will visit Sonoma, CA’s Huichica Music Festival. Current tour schedule below.
About Poor Moon: Poor Moon is a band comprised of longtime friends Christian Wargo, Casey Wescott, and brothers Ian and Peter Murray. And Poor Moon is the title of their full-length debut. But before there was a band or a record, there was the music, a series of songs forged by Christian Wargo over a period of several years. That’s one of the things that makes Poor Moon sound so special: this band grew out of the songs, not vice-versa (read more at Sub Pop).

What people are saying about Poor Moon:
“Illusion’s five songs occupy a dreamy netherworld elicited by the hushed, acoustic instrumentation and subdued production.” [Illusion EP review] – Pop Matters

“Mesmerizing offering of folky tunes fit for cloudy, slow-moving mornings when a cup of tea beckons to rub off the haze of sleep.” [Illusion EP review] – UTNE Reader

“It’s a fantastic soundtrack for a slow-moving morning after a long night of misbehaving.” [Illusion EP review] Under the Radar

“The production, melody, and instrumentals may be simple and relaxed, but not everything needs to sound overtly complicated and overwhelming to resonate.” [“People in her Mind” Track review] –KEXP
