We haven’t really tapped into the UES bar scene that much here on IMM, we’ve written about Bounce but this time we’re going on and on about Ryan’s Daughter, an Irish pub on the UES.
While pretentiousness reigns supreme on the UES, you don’t have that problem at Ryan’s Daughter. The only thing UES-esque about Ryan’s Daughter is its bathroom, it’s pretty friggin’ nice!
You’ve got your token regulars and male barkeeps that seem to remember your name after only one visit. You’ve got loads of entertainment too.
You can shoot some pool in the back of the bar, throw some darts if you’d like, you can even shoot some hoops with their basketball machine. Chances are they’ve got the game on too! There are TVs on both ends of the bar.
Prices are pretty good; you can grab yourself a tap beer for no more than $6, considering the location, that’s a steal. The fun little place also gives away tiny bags of chips to satisfy that salty craving.
It’s a spacious bar, a long one at that, you won’t feel crowded at all and that’s with a good crowd of people too.
The drink menu is pretty deep, they’ve got a fully stocked bar. Whiskey, wine, tequila, it doesn’t matter; chances are they’ve got the drink you desire.
Have I sold you on the spot yet? There is even a jukebox (they’ve usually got the Rolling Stones or Zeppelin on) to help make that good time drinking beer and playing pool even greater. Ryan’s Daughter even has a happy hour, which isn’t always normal at traditional Irish pubs.
It’s perfect for people living in the area.
