Long live the metal!
Phil Anselmo and the rest of the boys from the Louisiana heavy metal group, Down, have put out their first music video for their recently released EP and are keeping the old school, traditional metal alive and well.
It’s called “Witchtripper,” and you can actually get a glimpse of Anselmo with some make-up on. Don’t fret though, it’s more in the line with Black Sabbath make-up. It’s no where near Anselmo’s glam rock days. The video has got smoke, fire and Phil, what more could you ask for?
Don’t let their grey beards get you down (no pun intended), these guys can bring it.
It was more than evident at their recent concert in New York City. They played Best Buy Theater and brought the house down. Fists were raised to the sky, mosh pits alive and well. It was a great night for heavy metal. They played some of their classics like “Lifer,” “Ghosts Along the Mississippi,” and some of their new songs too. They gave us “Misfortune Teller and “Open Coffins.”
The new EP is a little more on the doom metal side, but it’s well worth the seven or so bucks.
It’ll be interesting to see where the boys go from here, but one thing is for sure, the public seems to be up and anxiously awaiting for some more Down.
