If you didn’t buy into Natural Child’s second album title, For the Love of the Game, which came out earlier this year, they’ve already got their second album of the year coming out on September 11th titled, Hard in Heaven.
They love to jam and play music, how else would a talented band turn out some amazing tunes. They love this game.
If you’re an avid reader of this site than you already know that I’m a fan of this band that’s out of Tennessee. How did they win me over? I’m no easy mark, the band turned out two amazing albums this year, both from top to bottom.
Their new album is a nine-track LP that makes up for what it lacks in quantity with what it possesses in quality.
Some of the standout tracks off the third record include “Derek’s Blues,” “Blind Owl Speaks” and “Big Pimpin.”
“Big Pimpin” will certainly bring Chucky Berry to mind with the speedy-rhythm. “Blind Owl Speaks” just might be the quintessential party record. One of its its verses is Roll it up/light it up/smoke it up/snort it up/shoot it up/drink it down. You can’t help but get high on Natural Child baby!
Natural Child will get to their show early and have some beers with their fans, I know because that’s exactly what they did at Brooklyn Bowl recently, I was there. Just because they love to party doesn’t mean there is nothing up stairs. The song-writing is clever, catchy and just plain cool.
I just hope they don’t hit their prime too soon and they’ve got a lot more up their sleeve because I could use some more of their music. I’m sure I’m not the only one either.
If you listen to one band that you haven’t heard this year, make it Natural Child. The ladies are thanking me for introducing them to the band, you’ll reap the benefits!
