Out this Friday is Your Sister’s Sister, starring Emily Blunt and The League’s Mark Duplass.
A film from Lynn Shelton, it touches on many things, romance between best friends, relationships between sisters.
Duplass plays Jack, a slacker who is still having trouble dealing with the loss of his brother Tom. He causes a scene, which brings Blunt, who plays Jack’s ex-girlfriend Iris, to offer him her father’s cabin so he can deal with his issues in peace. That’s when he meets Iris’ sister Hannah. Jack and Hannah hit it off and that’s when things get interesting. Bonds are tested; people realize things that will affect their future.
Judging from the movie trailer (above) alone, it looks likes an amazing film. It looks like it’s got quality acting and is entertaining all the way through.
It’s only going to start out in New York (IFC Center & Lincoln Center) and Los Angeles (The Arclight and Landmark). A nationwide rollout is to follow.
I will definitely check out this flick and you should too. While everything is 3D nowadays and loaded with special effects, it’s movies like this that let you know that there is quality acting out there and better yet, quality writing that leaves the crotch shots out.
