The hilarious side of Kurt Angle returned recently in a Funny or Die video that was a spin-off on his attempt to return to the Olympics.
With a run-time of a little over three minutes, and also featuring fellow wrestler, Rob Van Dam, it’s actually pretty friggen funny.
Angle tries his hand at a variety of spots like fencing, ping pong, beach volleyball and racewalking. His luck in the other sports doesn’t really turn out the way he wanted so he reverts back to his wrestling experience and beats some ass. A ping pong judge gets powerbombed through a table, Angle gets an assist from RVD and a Van Daminator goes down on Angle’s fencing opponent, really funny stuff.
The video definitely made me miss Angle’s comedic heel run in the WWE, especially when he was working with Stone Cold Steve Austin, vying for Vince McMahon’s attention. He was the total package.
Whether you watch TNA or not, I’m sure one thing we can all agree on is bring the comedy back Angle! You have to do something when you’re not wrestling, right? Why not bring some entertainment back!
TNA’s Brooke Tessmacher also makes a cameo at the end of the video. She’s the woman putting the wig on Angle.
