“Lazy Sunday” star, Andy Samberg, has put his tenure on the TV show to rest too.
Samberg commented on the career move in an MSNBC report.
“It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life,” Samberg told NYT on Friday. “Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.”
Samberg would go on…
“She (Wiig) kept saying it just feels like it’s her time,” Samberg said of Wiig’s departure. “I connect with that. Something about it just feels like it’s the moment. My contract’s up and I did so much more than I ever thought I would ever even do.”
I just hope the comedic rapper isn’t looking to replace his SNL time for a full-time movie career. He has his moments, but he’s not that funny. I don’t see it working out for him, at least not yet. He’s no leading man.
He’s set to star in “That’s My Boy” along side Adam Sandler, which opens on June 15th.
What do you think about the career choice? Will he be a success in the future?
