There are people working wonders after all.
News spread last week on Vulture.com about Wonder Woman possibly returning to TV on the CW.
According to the report, CW has teamed up with Warner Bros. and DC Comics to take the initial steps to bring the superhero back to life on television nearly a year after NBC rejected to bring Wonder Woman back.
The spin on the franchise is being written by Allan Heinberg (Grey’s Anatomy, The O.C.) and currently will be called, Amazon. This isn’t Heinberg’s first foray into the comic world. He wrote the Young Avengers comic book series in 2005.
Amazon is going to be about the origins of Wonder Woman, much like Smallville. She’s going to be a “budding superhero, rather than a fully formed defender of liberty.”
Don’t get your hopes up however comic lovers. CW is only working on a script at the moment. A pilot for the series has not started in anyway. If things do workout and the show does get on TV, it’ll be the first time in three decades for a Wonder Woman show to do so. The female superhero hasn’t been on TV since 1979.
How would you feel about a Wonder Woman show returning to TV?
