The guys from Tru Fam will be going out on 2011 Vans Warped Tour the day their new EP, Bow Ties & Applause, gets released.

Independent Media Magazine was able to catch up with Just I of Tru Fam through email for some info on the upcoming EP.

IMM: How many songs recorded for the album thus far? Of those, how many will make the cut?
Just I: We have a bunch of songs recorded but as of now we have five solid records that will be on there and we will have nine records on the EP.

IMM: Any collaborations on the record?
JI: Yes we have collaborations right now, artists like Dinner and A Suit, Cl Sosa and Dj Alexei right now.

IMM: What’s your favorite part of the album making process?
JI: My favorite part is selecting the type of sound that we want our fans to grasp to. We want our sound to stand out. You get one shot so you have to make sure everything is fine tuned when you present to a audience.

IMM: How would you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t heard your stuff?
JI: Our sound is more of a pop sound. Its a mixture of pop and hip-hop music. It’s different and I really think our fans our catching on to what we call an ULTRA sound.
