Can Romo and the ‘boys’ Get Over the Hump?

Tony RomoTo follow up last week’s AFC division winner predictions, we’re here to bring you the NFC division winner projections.

NFC East: This division is the toughest in the conference, filled with questions, have the Redskins finally turned the corner with the addition of McNabb? Are the Eagles going to take a step back without McNabb? Can the Giants recover from their dismissal defensive performance last year? The Dallas Cowboys have the same core of talent, Marion Barber has lost some weight while Felix Jones has put on some muscle. Miles Austin is still probably scoring touchdowns somewhere. The Cowboys are notorious for doing well in the regular season and disappearing quickly in the playoffs, I don’t see this season being any different. Cowboys all the way. Count on the Giants making the playoffs too.

NFC North: Favre Favre Favre is all the talk in the division but without Sidney Rice for at least half the season, expect the scoring to diminish drastically for the Vikes. This division could go either way between the Packers and the purple people but it’s the cheeseheads turn. They can put up points in bunches and have a stellar defense. Last year’s exit in the playoffs was a fluke. They got caught up in Arizona’s style of game and blew it. With experience comes success, look for Rodgers to take the Packers to the next level and go deeper into the playoffs, including a win or two against the Vikings.

NFC South: There is no reason to think the Saints won’t take this division again. The only team remotely close to them is the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons will make the playoffs again but the Saints will win the division. The Saints have a tough schedule this season, playing the likes of the Bengals, the Ravens and the Vikings but if they could split their non-division games and handle their division opponents, they should be just fine. The Saints are hard to stop at home, just ask last season’s near perfect Vikings.

NFC West: Unless the Arizona Cardinals can figure out something stable at the quarterback position, the San Francisco 49ers should take this division. The Rams will be horrible again and the Seahawks just don’t have an identity, Hasselbeck is just old and prone to injuries and interceptions. Until they add a rushing attack they can’t even get in division winner predictions. The 49ers added veteran Brian Westbrook too, helping ease the load on Frank Fore.
