No matter how hard times get there is always that little beer-drinking devil that sits atop your shoulder, should you indulge him? Even if you’re on a budget there are still ways to get out there and have a good time without putting a dent in your pocket. Needless so say your Friday night shouldn’t go on without getting a buzz.
Here is a list of five places offering a good deal on a beer and you wouldn’t need more than $20 to feel right.
Kabin Bar & Lounge: One of the cool spots in the East Village offers a deal on Pabst Blue Ribbon, better known as PBR to the hipsters and cheap-skates. The Pabst only cost $2 per 12 oz. can. Not a bad deal at all. You could have yourself seven PBR’s and still leave a nice tip for the bartender. Location:2nd Avenue between 5th and 6th St.
Cheap Shots: This local is more of a college bar. Nevertheless it offers great deals on booze. For instance, you can get a 24 oz. of Beck’s (in a bottle) for no more than $6. Also, if you know someone whose birthday is coming up, birthday boys & girls drink for free. All you need to do is show them your ID. Location:140 1st Ave A.
Coyote Ugly: Yes, yes, this is tourist attraction but it can be a fun spot too. The great deal you ask? They’ve also got PBR’s for $2. So you can kick back, enjoy your canned beer while you see the tourist folk mosey on in to the saloon. Location:153 1st Ave A.
Bull McCabe’s: This is a fun Irish pub with two tall Irishmen behind the bar. Alongside the affordable pool table that they’ve got, you can get $3 Rolling Rock all day long. Location: St.Mark’s Place between 2nd & 3rd Avenue.
Aces & Eights Saloon: This is a fun joint with loud music, beer pong, and a pool table. On top of that, on Fridays & Saturdays they offer a deal on Budweiser. From 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. you can drink as much draft Bud & Bud Light as you possibly can for only $10. Tip well, the barkeeps are pretty busy during this time. Location: 1683 1st Ave.
Hopefully this list of placse can help you enjoy your weekends on a budget. Just remember, you get what you pay for, so if you drink cheap beer, prepare for a bad hangover.
