The theater industry is looking to get a piece of the social networking pie, beware Twitter & Facebook!
…All right, so it may not be as big as either site but it’s going to be called New York Theatre Network and will be launching on Sept. 28th.
Funded by the city of New York, you’ll be able to find out all you need to know about a theater show you’re interested in, including start and end date, prices, location, and whether your favorite actor is involved in the show.
You’ll be able to interact with 200 non-profit theater companies. Users will be able to comment on theater company’s blogs, contribute to forums started by the companies, and meet theatergoers who enjoy the same shows, maybe find love? It could happen.
Users also won’t be bothered by excessive advertising…there actually won’t be any at all.
It’ll be able to connect with Twitter and Facebook as well. You’ll be able to see what shows your friends ‘Liked’ and see Tweets from all of the theater companies.
Aside from being extremely user friendly, the New York Theatre Network will also let you purchase tickets as well.
